CASEY WICKSTROM - YOGA TEACHER

I became a certified yoga instructor (200 hr RYT) in December 2017. As a student and a teacher, I see yoga as a link between body and mind, and I believe in the practice, the benefits, and the results. I teach various styles, including power Vinyasa and Yin, and Trufusion hot yoga. I also teach lessons on meditation and mindfulness.

In August of 2011, a near fatal collision with a drunk driver sent me into a downward spiral that nearly took my life. Extensive injuries and post-traumatic stress put me at a serious crossroads, and I eventually turned towards yoga and meditation to turn my life around. Now, I teach yoga as a way to share the healing effects of the practice that helped me in my recovery. I also lead Arm Balance & Inversion Workshops, and teach Mindfulness & Meditation classes, both online and in person (see below for more details on workshops).

Arm Balance/ Inversion Workshops
Arm balances and inversions can be intimidating, even downright scary. Having the tools and fundamentals to safely get into these poses gives you the strength and confidence to expand in your practice. Wherever you are in your yoga journey, I will provide you with the tools and insights to take your arm balance and inversion practice to the next level. Crow, side-crow, eight-angle pose, tripod/classical bound headstand, forearm stand, and handstand will all be explored and deconstructed so you can approach these postures safely and with more body awareness. Let's get inverted!

Meditation/ Mindfulness Workshops
 Meditation is one of the oldest practices of attaining higher consciousness, yet the profound benefits and simplicity of the practice are often overshadowed by common misconceptions. Many find the concept of meditation too abstract or intimidating to incorporate into their daily lives. In my workshop Intro to Meditation, I approach the practice of mindfulness and meditation from a practical and understandable approach. I discuss many different aspects of meditation, from the science and health benefits, to the many different styles and techniques. I offer tips and advice, along with a wealth of resources to answer questions and help you begin or enhance your own meditation practice. In a relaxed Q&A setting, those attending the workshop will be able to ask questions and gain a deeper grasp of how meditation can enhance their lives.
